Privacy
We keep only what the game needs to remember where you are. No email, no ads, no tracking.
Who
Do Not Believe Our Lies is made by Leonardo Rosa (AFTERZERO), in Portugal.
Questions about your data, or a request to see or erase it: support@donotbelieveourlies.net
What we keep
- Your nickname.
- Your password, scrambled so that no one can read it, not even us.
- Your recovery code, scrambled in the same way. Only you see it, once, when it is made.
- Your country, worked out from your device's time zone, or from your IP address if the time zone is not enough.
- When you created your account, when you reached and passed each level, and how many wrong passwords you tried.
- Whether and when you finished the game.
What we do not keep
- No email, real name or phone number. We never ask for them.
- No IP addresses. Your IP is used only for a moment to guess your country and to slow down repeated attempts, and is forgotten within an hour.
- The wrong passwords you type are counted, not stored.
- No advertising, analytics or tracking of any kind.
What others can see
Your nickname appears in the Hall of Fame if you are the first to pass a level, or when you finish the game. The menu shows totals: how many players there are and how many come from each country, never who.
Cookies
One cookie, to keep you signed in. Without it you would have to sign in on every page. There are no other cookies.
Where it is kept
The database is run by Supabase, in Ireland (EU). The game's server is run by Render, in the United States, and traffic passes through Cloudflare. They store and process the data for the game only. A copy of the database is made every week, kept privately on GitHub for 90 days, so that the game can be restored if something breaks.
For how long
Until you delete your account. After that, your data may still exist in the weekly copies for up to 90 days, and then it is gone. Statistics may also be reset while the game is being built.
Your choices
You can change your password, make a new recovery code or delete your account at any time in Account (also reachable from your Dossier). Deleting it erases your nickname, progress and file immediately.
